Brian Wells, the man pictured in the photo, is sitting in a bank parking lot in Pennsylvania, handcuffed by police and has a bomb tied to his neck.
He worked at a local pizza place. One day he made a delivery, to the wrong place. He was greeted by four bank robbers who used him and forced him to commit a robbery for them, putting a bomb collar on him.
After robbing the bank and being handcuffed by police behind an eyeglass store, he tries to explain his innocence and asks the officers to defuse the bomb. The police don’t believe him. After 25 minutes, the bomb explodes at exactly 3:18 p.m., killing Wells.
Some believe that Wells was a willing participant in the plot, but was tricked by his accomplices into thinking the bomb wasn’t real. Others believe he was an innocent victim.
Unfortunately, we’ll never know.
