I was just at the gas station

I was just at the gas station, minding my own business, waiting in line to get some gas. There was this young lady in front of me, and she was taking forever. I overheard the cashier telling her that both of her cards were declined. She asked, “Is something wrong with your machine?” and turned around to walk away.

I couldn’t help but smile, and she looked at me and said, “Why are you f**king smiling?” I replied, “Watch your mouth; I always smile and you should too.”

I then looked at the cashier and asked, “What pump is she on?” He told me, “Pump number two, why?” I said, “Can I put $20 on pump number two for her?” The cashier was surprised, saying, “Are you serious? She was very rude to you.” But then another guy behind me, who was also black, said, “Go ahead, fill it up.” So, we both helped pay for her gas.

When we went outside to tell her about the gas, the woman apologized and started crying. She went into her truck and showed us her new hire paperwork. She was starting her new job on Monday and needed gas to get through the week until she gets paid.

It was a reminder from God to always keep a smile on my face, no matter what. We never know what someone else is going through, and we all have a purpose on this earth!
