What was it like to fly on the Concorde for those of you who have?

The wife and I on Concord years and years ago.

It was very, very cool.

When it takes off it does so like a scalded cat. Genuine push you back in the chair stuff. Once far enough away from land the pilot initiates re-heat and when that goes it’s like a big hand pushing you forwards from behind. Awesome.

When it is cruising it is quiet, smooth and refined.

The service and food were quite special as I recall. They didn’t have all the inflight stuff the big airliners had because you got back from Canada to the UK in just about four hours. They barely had time to feed and water you.

It was an incredible experience and I’m so glad I got to do it whilst Concorde was in service.

The only plane I thought was as cool was the Space Shuttle and you couldn’t buy tickets for that so…
