After being examined, a shocking truth was discovered: Lina was seven months pregnant. Lina was born with a rare condition called “precocious puberty,” which, simply put, causes the early onset of sexual development. Lina Medina officially became the youngest mother documented in medical history. She gave birth to a boy on May 14, 1939, by cesarean section, as her pelvis was too small. The born child was completely healthy and was named Gerardo. However, the identity of the child’s father remained a mystery.

Gerardo died at the age of 40 from myelofibrosis, however Lina Medina is still alive (at the date of publication) and is today 89 years old.
