Have you seen the way she looks?
Meg Ryan, when she was younger, was cute as hell. I mean look at her:
She was pretty, she was funny, she could act which is saying a lot as some actresses coast by on their looks alone. But something happened which unfortunately happens to everybody. She got older. Her face started to change. Lines appeared. Skin lost it’s youthful elasticity. So she had two options. The first was to transition roles from “pretty girl next door” to “older established actress”. Or she could get work done on her face to stave off the ravages of time.
She chose the latter and… it really didn’t work for her.
Yikes. Skin is pulled way too tight. Forehead is unnaturally smooth. She looks like a completely different person.
It’s why I’ve always admired actresses that age gracefully. They accept that they will never look young and youthful again and that’s okay. This idea that actresses need to stay young and pretty just winds up destroying their looks when they’re no longer able to play the prom queen.
