Question: How come Kaley Cuoco hasn’t been in many movies lately despite being a popular TV actress?

Multiple reasons, including:

1. Her lack of box office success – Cuoco did films during Big Bang hiatuses, however none of them were hits. Not much point casting an actor who can’t bring home the bacon at the box office.
2. Cuoco is primarily a co-star, not a lead – To give you an idea of how limited her abilities are as a leading actor her turn in the animated Harlequin series is arguably some of her best work…and that takes place DECADES after she came to Hollywood.
3. She’s “cute” but not attractive enough to be a lead – Seriously. Cuoco is an average looking person who managed to get a lucky break on a series where she was the desirable female character for its run. The same only happens in the film world if you are funny or a good actor if they possess Cuoco’s looks.
4. She seems to have a number of issues – Her personal life is a train wreck. The fact that everyone knows this is bizarre as it does nothing to assist her career. Basically any production that took Cuoco onboard is likely going to take a backseat to her roller coaster romantic life and her myriad insecurities.
5. She’s getting older – 10–15 years ago Cuoco really might have been a “catch”. However now she’s on the train to “Mommy” and perhaps “MILF” roles and there are no stops on that journey. Unfortunately for her, there are a sizable number of female actors on that journey and many of them can actual emote and inhabit roles.

Frankly, between her Big Bang earnings, her streaming efforts, and her work in commercials unless Cuoco is a spendthrift, she has more than enough money to live in comfort for the remainder of her life. Coupled with the above things, her lack of need to find film roles seems to have combined to make her unlikely to be cast in major ones for the foreseeable future.
