Grounded Royals

The daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Lady Louise Windsor, made a statement of sorts recently when passengers recognized her sitting by herself on the floor of a packed train to Bristol. Lady Louise has been considered one of the royal family’s most down-to-earth younger members. While she is a royal princess as the youngest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, her parents wanted her to grow up styled as a “Lady” in hopes of her having a more normal and low-profile life. She and her brother James, Earl of Wessex, are now both over 18, and neither have shown interest in using HRH Prince/Princess titles. They set an example for less pomposity and entitlement among members of the extended royal family. In the future, one imagines more of this and less of lower ranked and non-working family members accepting and using titles, such as those currently living in the USA.
