When Anmol Rodriguez was just two months old, her life changed forever. Her father, furious that she had been born a girl, attacked both Anmol and her mother with acid. The assault tragically took her mother’s life, while Anmol survived with severe burns and permanent scars across her face and body. Her father was arrested soon after the attack, leaving Anmol with no immediate family to care for her.
With nowhere else to go, she was taken in by the Shree Manav Seva Sangh, an orphanage in Mumbai. It was here that she grew up, facing hardship but also learning to build her confidence and independence. Despite her painful past, Anmol developed a bright, resilient personality that quickly made her stand out.
As she grew older, Anmol transformed her suffering into strength. She decided to help others like her—people whose lives had been forever changed by acid attacks. In 2017, she founded the Sahas Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting acid attack survivors. Through her foundation, Anmol provides emotional support, job opportunities, guidance for medical recovery, and a safe space for survivors to rebuild their lives.
But Anmol’s journey didn’t stop there. She soon stepped into the world of fashion and public speaking, determined to challenge beauty standards and inspire others to accept themselves. Her confidence, style, and powerful storytelling helped her grow into a recognized fashion influencer, model, and TEDx speaker. She uses her public platform to spread awareness about acid violence and teach people about self-worth, courage, and resilience.
Anmol also explored her talent in acting. She made her screen debut in the short film “Aunty Ji”, acting alongside legendary actress Shabana Azmi. Her performance highlighted not just her acting skills but also her determination to keep breaking barriers and proving that her scars do not define her.
Today, Anmol Rodriguez stands as an inspiration to millions around the world. She continues to motivate people with her story of survival, strength, and unstoppable willpower, proving that even after the most devastating tragedies, one can rise, rebuild, and shine.
