Today, during my lunch break

0

Today during my lunch break, I stopped by Aldi to buy a few things for lunch and snacks for work. While I was packing my groceries, I heard the cashier say, “I’m sorry, your card didn’t go through.”

I looked over and saw an elderly woman trying her card again, but it was declined once more. She then said she would count the cash she had with her, hoping it would be enough. Sadly, it wasn’t.

My heart sank as I watched her step away to check if she had more money in her car. I turned to the cashier and asked, “How much does she still owe?” The cashier replied, “$19.75.”

Without a second thought, I pulled a $20 bill from my wallet and handed it to the woman. I also gave her my shopping cart—leaving my own items behind—so she could take everything she needed.

The smile on her face when she realized what was happening was absolutely priceless. Moments like these remind me that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life.

Let’s all try to be a little kinder to one another and always look for chances to pay it forward. ❤️
