The first thing to understand is that Elon Musk works for himself. Well, for companies he founded, that he runs, and in which he owns a lot of shares. Companies that aim to achieve many of his life’s goals.
Elon Musk’s work clearly transcends him. Elon Musk wants to colonize Mars, and this is the kind of project that pushes you to work harder and harder to achieve it.
Elon Musk includes in his working hours the time he spends reading books to help him achieve his projects. So he has the time to do it.
On the other hand, Elon Musk is clearly neglecting his family and his health by working so much. You can see that in the last 10 years, his physical condition has clearly deteriorated. If you are a Tesla shareholder, this is not something that should reassure you. Because if something were to happen to Elon Musk, the company would have a hard time recovering and continuing to perform like this.
His vision and aura make all the difference to his companies. Elon Musk embodies his companies even more than Steve Jobs embodied Apple.
So the example of Elon Musk is clearly not to be followed. Wanting to succeed is one thing, but to the point of sacrificing your life and your loved ones.
