I’d like for you to try and imagine a scene. Two huge men who have spent their entire lives perfecting their anger circle one another. Words have been exchanged; in a few minutes one will be on the floor, but both will be bloody.
Look at the crowd. Plenty of tatted-up inmates have gathered to enjoy the spectacle from a safe distance.
Look closer at that crowd… see anyone shivering?
Of course you don’t. Tempers rise when the mercury does.
“Dang it’s cold in here. May I borrow a sweater?”
Prisons keep it cold because they have fewer fights that way.
Oh… and it slows the spread of infectious microbes… you can count on getting that answer from the prisons. 😉
