This photo was taken some time ago in Elgin Woods, Scotland, on the day my brother got married. My mum kept this picture on her mantelpiece for years. One day, without anyone touching it, the photo suddenly fell down.
By that time, my grandma, who is standing on the far right in the picture, had already passed away.
Recently, while we were looking back at old memories and talking about her, we noticed something in the photo that none of us had ever seen before. Near one of the trees in the background, there appears to be a figure standing there. When I zoomed in, it looked strangely like a soldier. Seeing it for the first time honestly gave me chills.
Then we noticed something else—what looks like the face of a woman between my grandma (on the far right) and me. Once you see it, it’s hard to ignore. Now, every time I look at the photo, it sends shivers down my spine.
I don’t know if it’s just shadows, light, or our minds noticing patterns we missed before—but the timing and the details feel unsettling. That’s why I wanted to share this story and hear other people’s thoughts.
