This afternoon, I experienced the scare of my life.
When my subway train stopped at Broadview Station, I suddenly heard a faint voice calling out, “Help, help me, please.” The voice didn’t seem to be coming from anyone inside the train car, so I stood up and looked out onto the platform to see what was happening.
That’s when I noticed a man lying on the tracks. He was blind and had fallen onto the tracks, injuring himself and unable to get up.
Without a moment’s hesitation, the man standing next to me—who you can see in the photo wearing an animal-print shirt—jumped down onto the tracks to help him. Almost immediately, two other men rushed forward and joined him. Together, they worked quickly and calmly to assist the injured man and get him to safety.
Thankfully, everything turned out okay. But if these men hadn’t acted so fast, the situation could have been much worse.
Please share this photo. These men deserve to be recognized as heroes for their courage, compassion, and quick thinking.
