Today, while I was picking up my daughter from play school, her teacher asked to speak with me.
“Shefali, there’s something I want to tell you about your daughter. Today, there were 4 or 5 kids crying, wanting to go home, and you know what your daughter did?”
“What? What did she do?” I thought she might have gotten into some mischief.
“She went to each crying child and said, ‘Don’t cry. This teacher won’t do anything. Do you want toys? Do you want to play?’”
I smiled.
The teacher continued, “She even hugged them and wiped their tears. She helped me a lot today. She’s such a sweet kid.”
I was speechless, but I couldn’t stop smiling all day after that.
