What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you at a water park?

My family had a holiday in Denmark. We decided to visit the local swimming pool. I took my three sons into the changing room and discovered that the rules were very different to those I was used to in England.

First, we were required to removed our shoes in the dry area and put them in a tier of baskets. Only then were we allowed into the wet area of the changing room which was a communal area.

My three boys and I changed into our swimming trunks and headed for the next room which were communal showers. The male attendant shouted something to me in Danish, and then realising we were English told us to remove our Speedos before showering. He pointed to a basket of sponges impregnated with shampoo and told us to use them under the showers.

He waited to see we were making a proper job of cleaning our bodies, and pointed to a diagram on the wall making clear that every area should be attended to from head to toe.

He retired to the changing room as we completed out shampoos and regained the privacy of our swimwear.

The main embarrassment came as we entered the swimming pool. A female attendant blew her whistle and explained there was still shampoo foam on my hair and I was sent back to shower it off – a little humiliating in front of my boys.

However from then on the fun began as the pool was beautifully clean, and there were some exciting water slides, one of which was quite frightening and we called it the ‘zonka’

On leaving the pool we were all expected to shower naked and the attendant checked that everyone was complying.
